What you’ll learn
– 1. Identify all key components of the guzheng, such as the yue mountains, bridges, strings, and sound holes, and state their basic functions.
– 2. Assume and maintain a correct seated playing posture with a straight back, relaxed shoulders, and stable footing for optimal technique.
– 3. Correctly fit performance picks onto the appropriate fingers to ensure proper playing angle and clear string contact.
– 4. Establish the proper hand shape with a rounded "tiger’s mouth," aligned joints, and level wrist for precise finger control.
– 5. Integrate posture, hand shape, and pick use into a cohesive beginner technique and self-correct fundamental errors.

Description
Many aspiring players rush into melodies only to be limited by tension, fatigue, or a stiff sound. The root cause often lies in an unexamined posture. This course systematically deconstructs the time-honored principles passed down through generations of masters. You will learn how to find the perfect ergonomic setup: from selecting the correct bench height and calculating your ideal distance from the instrument (one to two fists’ width) to positioning your feet for unwavering stability. We will delve into the critical alignment of your spine and hips to support effortless playing for hours.

Who this course is for:
– Self-Taught Learners Seeking Foundation: You’ve tried to learn from online videos but struggle with inconsistent sound, hand pain, or tension. This course will give you the correct foundational posture and hand technique to play comfortably and avoid bad habits.
– Hobbyists & Lifelong Learners: You are looking for a rewarding and culturally enriching new skill. This structured, step-by-step guide will take you from unboxing your instrument to playing your first clear, beautiful notes with confidence.
– Parents & Young Learners: The clear instructions and focus on fundamentals make this an excellent resource for young students (with adult guidance for equipment setup) and parents supporting their child’s musical journey.
– You will find tremendous value here if your goal is to build a strong, healthy, and sustainable foundation in guzheng playing from the ground up.
– Not sure if you have the right equipment? All you need to begin is a guzheng and a set of finger picks. We will teach you how to use everything else.
