Requirements
Description
The journey begins with mastering the "where" and "how" of touch. You will learn to intentionally manipulate striking points-from the bright, crisp tones near the front bridge to the soft, ethereal sounds near the string’s center-to paint with a full spectrum of tonal colors. We then deconstruct the mechanics of that touch, exploring how contact surface area, attack angle, and depth of pick engagement fundamentally alter sound quality, from crisp and percussive to deep and resonant.

Technique is explored as a language of emotion. You will gain fluency in both the powerful, grounded "jia tan" (pinching play) method, essential for traditional repertoire, and the agile "ti tan" (lifting play) methods, which form the backbone of modern, rapid passages. Crucially, we integrate the often-overlooked physiology of play, teaching you to develop finger strength and independence through targeted exercises while avoiding harmful tension, ensuring your practice builds endurance without strain.
