Egon Schiele (June 12, 1890 – October 31, 1918) was an Austrian artist. The protest of Gustav Klimt, Schiele was a large imaginative artist of the early 20th century. His work is notable for its intensity, and many self-portraits created by the artist. The intertwined figures of the body and the expressive line that characterize the paintings and drawings of Schiele, mark the artist as an early representative of expressionism.
