Lo sfondo di una città scenograficamente perfetta e compiuta, allusione ad
un luogo costantemente terreno e mentale nel contempo, tratteggia atmosfere
rarefatte, in cui suoni e colori, voci e luci, implosivi e carichi di tensione,
sembrano sempre sul punto di rivelarsi nelle proprie peculiarità assolute,
nelle significazioni universali, ora rivolte all’umanità ora alla natura.
La sinestesia, nel dettato lirico di Ferrante, è padrona incontrastata e sublime
di versicoli nervosi, ardenti, intensi, in cui è una parola guida, per ciascuno
di essi, a riempire la misura, e nel contempo a dettare il rigore di un ritmo
continuo e gradevole, scorrevole come un palpito disteso. Altrove le
immagini si fanno inquietanti, repentinamente orride, di un’allusività
proteiforme che tira dietro di sé una catena pressoché infinita di simboli.
“ THE WHITE CITY “
The background of a city scenographically perfect and solid together with
the allusions to a place which is always earthly but at the same time in the
mind, create a rarefied atmosphere in which sounds and colours, voices and
lights, all implosive and loaded with tension, seem to be always on the point
of revealing their own absolute peculiarities and universal meaning with
reference to humanity at one point and to nature at another. It is a city
without time in which, passing from lyric to lyric, it’s possible to show all
possible times by following the fascination suggested by the things
presented, by the tiniest almost imperceptible happenings.
Synaesthesia, in Ferrante’s lyrics, is an undisputed and sublime master
producing highly-wrought, intense, passionate verses in which it guides the
outpouring and at the same time dictates the vigour of a continuous, pleasing
rhythm running with an expansive throbbing.
