Trama:
L’avvocato Paul Biegler viene invitato ad assumere la difesa del tenente Manion, accusato di omicidio: egli infatti ha ucciso Barney Quill, che aveva violentato sua moglie Laura. Il legale esita prima di accettare l’incarico poiché sa di doversi occupare di un caso complicato.
