Trama:
Harry Burns (Billy Cristal) e Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) sono due studenti universitari che si incontrano per caso, quando lei si offre di accompagnare Harry con la sua auto. Durante il viaggio discutono dell’amicizia tra persone di sesso opposto e le loro opinioni sono completamente diverse: mentre Harry è convinto che l’amicizia tra un uomo e una donna sia impossibile, Sally crede il contrario. Nonostante questo, gli anni passano e la loro relazione continua.
