Description: The little girl Marina ran away from home. She is accidentally met in the courtyard by a lonely and sad girl, Delfina, who was abandoned by her groom in her wedding dress. They soon become friends. Delfina brings the runaway child to her house and Marina’s father Mario invites the girl to stay with them to look after her. Almost immediately he falls in love with her and invites the young lady to become his wife. But the heroes of the film do not find quick happiness. The fact is that Marina already has a real mother (Wanda, Anna Magnani), but she has never seen her daughter in her life. The film is considered a precursor of Italian neorealism.
