Le vicende di June, una ragazza che si trasferisce a Manhattan in seguito a un’offerta di lavoro che è in pratica la realizzazione dei suoi sogni, con tanto di appartamento da favola. Sembra troppo bello per essere vero e infatti a causa di un dirigente corrotto June si ritrova in mezzo alla strada e senza un posto dove stare. Trova lavoro in una caffetteria e una probabile coinquilina in Chloe, una collega affascinante e divertente che però ha un codice morale tutto suo, e solo dopo aver realizzato che June è tutt’altro che stupida, decide di accoglierla nella sua scombinata banda di amici tra cui c’è anche James Van Der Beek nel ruolo di… James Van Der Beek.
