Fra i personaggi che hanno un ruolo centrale vi è un gruppo di globuli rossi formato da alcuni individui, tra i quali, i giovani Globina ed Emo, ed un globulo rosso anziano, Globus, che fa da Cicerone al gruppo, spiegando di volta in volta, durante ogni episodio, i principali aspetti della biologia umana.
